# Where can I find my NIF number?

## General information

**You'll find your NIF on the upper left corner of the document provided to you by Finanças via AnchorLess. It will be by the left of your name.**

You NIF number is permanent! **This is not a temporary number.**

Be aware that, if you are not an EU/EEA resident or did not provide a Portuguese address, the information on the lower part of the PDF it's from your fiscal representative (legally required by Portuguese Government - with AnchorLess a hired lawyer) and won't be necessary for your day-to-day life.

If there are fields that are not filled in on your NIF document, don't worry, it's perfectly normal - that's how the Portuguese authorities fill in NIFs.

This will not affect any of your procedures.
