What document can I use as a Proof of Address for my Digital Certificate?

When applying for a Spanish Digital Certificate you must provide a proof of address.


General requirements


Your proof of address must:


  • Present your full name and match your ID, first, middle and last name, according to the documents you provided;
  • Present your full address;
  • Have a clearly visible issue date, issued within the past 3 (three) months;
  • P.O. Boxes and Business Addresses are not accepted;
  • Be presented in the Roman alphabet.

It can be one of the following documents:


Bank statement (issued within the last 3 months)


  • The document should include your full name and full address.
  • The document should clearly display the issue date.
  • The document must have been issued within the last three months.
  • Only an authentic bank statement will be accepted as proof. Other documents from the bank, such as confirmation letters or bank certificates, will not be considered valid.


Utility bill (issued within the last 3 months)


  • The document should include your full name and full address.
  • The document must clearly show the issue date.
  • The document must have been issued within the last three months.
  • Acceptable providers for the document include electricity, water, mobile SIM, internet, cable, and similar services.


Driver's Licence


  • The document should include your full name and full address.
  • The document must clearly show the issue date.
  • Be currently valid (the expiration date must be clearly visible and must not have passed).
  • Be submitted in full (both front and back sides).


Life insurance


  • The document should include your full name and full address.
  • The document must clearly show the issue date.
  • The document must have been issued within the last three months.
  • The policy must be valid at the time of submission. Lapsed policies won't be accepted.


Government letter (issued within the last 3 months)


  • The document should include your full name and full address.
  • The document must clearly show the issue date.
  • The document must have been issued within the last three months.
  • Often, the document requires an official government seal, logo, or watermark to be considered legitimate.

About the document language


If the document you are submitting is not written in the Roman alphabet, you must provide an English translation of the document. This translation must be certified.
